Urban Adventure Games $5,000 Charity Giveaway

The 8th Annual Urban Adventure Games is solidifying a new tradition this summer with the return of its $5,000 Charity Giveaway Contest. Launched just last year, the contest invites community members to help select five local charities to each receive a $1,000 gift from the proceeds of the event.

 

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Submit An Entry

Organizations wishing to participate in the charity giveaway must complete our online UAG Charity Giveway Registration Form , including submission of a photo, and submit their entry by May 23rd June, 11th. Details of what is expected for the photo can be found on the registration form. In order to be deemed eligible, qualifying organizations must:
  1. Be a recognized, 501 (c)(3) public charity according to the United States Internal Revenue Code.
  2. Have offices in St. Joseph County
  3. Use gift funds for services provided in the St. Joseph County (example: If organization is part of a nationwide chapter, funds from gift must remain in our county and can’t be used for similar services in outside areas).

Step 2: Vote

Once the entry submission period has ended, we will be putting the power in the hands of our community to help us determine FIVE organizations to be recipients of $1,000 gifts that will be given out on race day. During the month of June, each eligible organization will then be notified one week in advance of  a 24hr period to solicit “likes” for their organization via our Urban Adventure Games Facebook Page. This is a time for them to reach out to family and friends, and drive them to our Facebook page where they can “like” a post made for the cause. Once all eligible organizations have had a chance to solicit “likes”, the top 5 organizations with the most votes will be selected to receive a $1,000 donation.

Step 3: Volunteer

The winning organizations must then provide a minimum of 5 volunteers to not only participate as volunteers during the Urban Adventure Games race on July 29th, 2017, but to also be present to receive their check at the conclusion of event during the awards ceremony.

This giveaway is conducted by The Urban Adventure Games, an official non-profit organization. The Urban Adventure Games committee members reserve the right to disqualify any team from participation if they fail to meet the standards set forth by The Urban Adventure Games $5,000 Charity Giveaway Eligibility Rules. The final gift recipients will be chosen by public vote via The Urban Adventure Games’ Official Facebook Page and will be contacted via one of the methods of contact they provided during registration. Recipients will be notified of their selection by an Urban Adventure Games committee member by May 15th and must have representatives of their organization present on race day to receive their gift.
